Sometimes we get letters from our puppies when they are in their new homes:
Dear Mommy Ivy,
I just thought I would write you to let you know that I am very happy in my new home. My new family thinks that I am just the greatest! I am doing very well. Last night I discovered that it is so much fun to demolish a newspaper. I had it in hundreds of tiny little pieces. For some reason I can't find any paper on the floor today. Today I had a very busy day. This morning I played outside for awhile. Then I went with my new mommy to my very first soccer game. We watched a bunch of 6 year olds playing the game. I saw lots of people there and let some two year old kids feed me some log treats and pet me. My new mommy was so proud of me for not growling at them even though I was a little scared of them. After the soccer game we went to a place where they sold coney dogs outside and I saw some more new people. This afternoon I got to play outside again. I love it so much when I get to go outside. My new mommy really keeps a good watch on me. I made some new friends outside today. They are two big cats. They used to hiss and arch their backs when they would see me but today they let me play with them. One even would rub up against me. Another thing that made my new mommy happy was that I peed three times outside for her today and pooped once. I haven't figured out why that makes her so excited yet, but I know that it does because she sure heaps on the praise and kisses when I do. Well, I better get back to playing again. Just wanted to let you know that I was thinking about you and that I really have it good here. Love you, Cruise (alias Cruiser)

A letter from Jesse
Hi Mommy Ivy!
I wanted to write you a little note and tell you how I am doing. I have been at my new home in Gretna, NE just over a week now and I am being a VERY good girl! Even though I am not a little puppy (I am almost 5 yrs old), my new parents think I am sooooo special. They hold me and cuddle me all the time. I follow my new mom outside to go poddy and stay real close to her. I think I really love her. Oh and I have two new brother Chihuahuas, who are surprisingly nice to me and snuggle next to me on the couch. One of them tries to “talk” to me – but I can’t figure out what he is saying, and I just get bored of listening to him. Hey mom – guess what? I don’t even growl at them, even tho they are rather annoying at times.
I am such a good girl! My stitches have all healed from my spay… and I am really feeling good, I am showing everyone how I dance on my hind legs when they say “Jesse’s a pretty girl, Jesse’s a pretty girl” – (I may go on the road someday as a circus performer)… but not now.
Thanks for taking such good care of me at Lamar’s Doghouse so I can now live out my “retirement” years - healthy and sound. I love you mommy Ivy, but….
I think I will stay here with these folks now! My new mom says she will be sending you letters and emails just to keep you updated Love, Jess

Happy New Year 2008 from Jesse and Charlie.

Good Morning Ivy,
Just wanted to let you know that all is well with JP. Since his arrival he has settled in very well. He and Stubby (my other little male) are getting along just fine. He's eating well and getting plenty of exercise as they chase each other around through this big old house. He and Stubby sleep in my bed with me. He likes that very much. I am so looking forward to some nice baby's when I use him with some of my leading ladies. Lol
And now to you, I have to say that I have bought quite a few dogs (not just Chihuahua's) over the past 35 - 40 years and I will have to give you a big thumbs up on your record keeping. I have never received such efficient paperwork on any of the dogs I've bought in the past. It will be so easy to transfer everything into my files. Everything was so neat and in order on the shots that have been received and when they are due again. My vet always questions me when I take a new one in for check
up whether I believe that this was all given in the past but with yours, everything is on legal papers from the vet etc. I can just take this right to my vet and they can make copies to put in their records. Thanks so much. You folks at Lamars do help to make life a little easier.
Even dates of when they were last tested for heart worm, I have never gotten that from any breeder when I've bought a dog that breeders claim have been on heart worm medication. I bought from some of the large named breeders in the industry and received only an envelope in the mail or stuck to the shipping crate with nothing but the registration application in it. Again, I have to say that you are very efficient and would never hesitate to buy from you again. JP is everything that you said and was in an excellent clean condition with a beautiful hair coat that anyone could tell had been taken very good care of.
Thank you so much
Jimmy Rankin
